Yesterday Debbie had a job interview. She went downtown to the company. The interview was for an accounting job. Debbie graduated from university three months ago.

Her interview was at 10:00 am. She woke up at 7:00 am and left her house before 8:00 am. She waited for the bus, but it was late. She was very worried because she did not want to be late for the interview. She tried to phone the company to warn them, but her phone battery was dead.

When the bus arrived, it was almost 9:00 am. Then the bus was slow because there were many other cars. The bus finally arrived at Debbie’s stop at 9:45 am.

Debbie ran from the bus stop to the office building. When she entered, she saw a sign that said the company was on the 24th floor. The elevator ride took almost 5 minutes because many people stopped at different floors.

When Debbie arrived at the reception, it was 9:58. She was in time!

“I am here to see Mrs. Lewis,” said Debbie.

The receptionist checked her book and replied:

“She is not here today. What is your name, please?”

“My name is Debbie Gregson.”

“Sorry, Debbie, but your appointment is tomorrow.”

Debbie checked her agenda. It was true. She was there on the wrong day!

Kemarin Debbie mendapatkan wawancara kerja. Dia pergi ke kota untuk ke perusahaan. Wawancara tersebut untuk posisi akuntansi. Debbie lulus dari universitas 3 bulan lalu.

Wawancara Debbie pukul 10 pagi. Dia bangun tidur pukul 7 pagi dan meninggalkan rumah sebelum pukul 8 pagi. Dia menunggu bus namun bus itu terlambat. Dia sangat khawatir karena dia tidak mau terlambat ke wawancaranya. Dia mencoba menelepon perusahaan untuk memberi kabar darurat ini, namun baterai ponselnya mati.

Ketika bus tiba, waktu menunjukkan pukul 9 pagi. Kemudian bus melaju dengan lambat karena banyak mobil yang lain. Akhirnya bus tiba di halte yang dimaksud Debbie pukul 9:45.

Debbie lari dari halte bus menuju ke gedung perkantoran yang dimaksud. Ketika dia memasuki gedung dia melihat tanda yang menyatakan bahwa perusahaan yang dituju ada pada lantai 24. Lift membawa Debbie selama 5 menit karena banyak orang yang masuk lift dari lantai yang berbeda.

Ketika Debbie sampai di meja resepsionis, waktu menunjukkan pukul 9:58. Dia datang tepat waktu!

"Saya ingin menemui Nyonya Lewis," kata Debbie.

Resepsionis mengecek bukunya dan menjawab:

"Dia tidak hadir hari ini. Boleh diinformasikan nama Anda?"

"Nama saya Debbie Gregson."

"Maaf Debbie, janji temu wawancara Anda besok."

Debbie mengecek kembali buku agendanya. Itu memang benar. Dia datang ke kantor di hari yang salah!
